    December Member News

    Life O’ The Party, owned by ISES NY Metro member and Past President Mark Zettler, was chosen for the 8th consecutive year to supply all the “party balloons” for Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and all events leading up to the parade itself. In all, over 15,000 custom imprinted balloons were used at parade events. Though the parade is a major event in the life of New York City, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is actually a yearlong celebration. Life O’ The Party provided balloons for a number of different events leading up to the parade.

    • 35 stores were supplied with “Party Boxes” of 100 balloons, ribbon, weights and clips for in-store promotions throughout the NY Metro area.
    • Clown U was a children’s event at The Big Apple Circus’ new Gold Event Tent weeks prior to the parade.
    • Studio Day was a TV and radio promotional day in Macy’s Hoboken, NJ float construction facility. This is the building where the floats are designed and created. This event gives the media a sneak peak at a number of the floats everyone will see during the parade.
    • Hospital Audiences is a group that specializes in visiting children in hospitals. This group was supplied with 200 balloons.
    • 500 balloons were brought to the Herald Square store the Sunday before the parade for a special breakfast with Santa event.
    • Inflation Day is a grand event the day before the parade that allows the general public to get up close and personal with the giant parade floats as they are inflated on the streets surrounding the Museum of Natural History. Life O’ The Party was there with 5,000 latex balloons that get distributed free of charge to many in attendance.

      • A few of the 5,000 balloons from Life O' The Party distributed at the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade Inflation Day Event.

    • 200 balloons were delivered to the Museum of Natural History for a special event for Macy’s sponsors.
    • Inflation and delivery of nearly 9,000 balloons started at 11 PM the night before the parade. These balloons were used at the start line of the parade, along the parade route on Central Park West and down at Herald Square by the reviewing stands everyone sees on TV during the parade.
