ABOUT THE BOOK:
Dance underneath a solar-powered sculpture lit with LED lights in the California desert. Charge your phone with solar energy at the world’s most innovative music and media conference in Texas. Power a movie projector by riding a bicycle at Scotland’s greenest venue. Discover the energy-saving technology behind Australia’s coolest new convention center.
This book is one of the first major international textbooks to cover the exciting new world of sustainable meetings, conferences, exhibitions, festivals and events. Samuel Goldblatt has spent two years interviewing over 50 industry leaders around the world in order to put together a global perspective on sustainable practices for the events and entertainment industries. Not only does The Complete Guide to Greener Meetings and Events feature over 30 fabulous full-colour photos, it is printed with ink containing soy content on paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and is bound with 85% pre-consumer recycled fiber!
Find out more on the Web, the official Blog or on Facebook.
I’ve been working with Richard Aaron of BizBash, and Johanna Walsh of Twirl Management to help bring Sam Goldblatt to NYC for the launch of his new book, The Complete Guide to Greener Meetings and Events. Sam is sure to engage us with an informative session, and provide essential tips to help you green your events.
This will be a good opportunity to take notes and let me know if you have any questions or particular areas of interest. We are beginning to develop our curriculum and agenda for the 2012 ISES Sustainability Forum and it would be helpful to have your input.
I hope you’ll attend this free event this Thursday evening at the New York Marriott Downtown. Please rsvp to Johanna Walsh, there are still a couple of spots open.
Hope to see you there!
Best,
Jill
